My name is Sean Worthington, and I am proud to say I am a 3rd generation waterproofer. My father, grandfather, and many uncles, cousins, and my brother have all been part of the business over the years. Even my senior foreman has been with my family for over 25 years, and most of HIS family are all waterproofers as well. So when we say ‘family business’, we really mean it.
Now our ‘family business’ currently bears our family name, but it wasn’t always that way. My grandfather originally started Springfield Waterproofing in the early 1960’s. Over the years as my Uncle got involved and spread out to Chester County, we became Brandywine Waterproofing – a name more reflective of our regional coverage. I bought the company from my father in 2012 and decided it was time to put our ‘family name’ on our ‘family business’. So we became ‘Worthington Waterproofing Systems’. But since then, both the industry and our company have evolved to take a much more comprehensive approach to solving our customers true water and moisture related problems. So we have since tweaked our name to better represent what we offer our customers, and we are now known as “Worthington Basement Health Systems”.
Now, some of our less scrupulous competition attempts to suggest that we changed our name to avoid warranty problems. That simply isn’t true. Any contract with my or my father’s signature on it, regardless of the company name at the top is covered under the original warranty terms. But even so, our systems are so superior that our warranty call backs are less than 1/10th of 1%. Some of our competitors have so many warranty call backs that they have an entire service department dedicated to fixing their mistakes!
So if you’d prefer to hire one of the big box, French drain factory companies whose business model based purely on volume, than we are not the company for you. But if you prefer to hire a company who has taken tremendous pride in the craftsmanship of each and every job for 3 generations, than give us a call.
